Bangalore

The Garden City of India

By Rev. Victor I. Burgos

What an awesome God we serve! Our mission trip to Bangalore, India, although not void of extraordinary challenges, we can honestly and hilariously give Jesus the power, the honor and the glory for the success attained. Paula, Ginny, Junior and I were witnesses of how when there is a people that hungers and thirst after God, He is found of them and His delivering power, like a fire, is able to do away with anything that does not comes from Him.

Many ministers and lay people that were attending our meetings were filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I personally remember when a young pastor approached me to tell me how he had been waiting for ten years to receive such a precious gift.

As the prophetic ministry went forth and was received by the people, an electrifying excitement began to grow and filled the atmosphere. The people were literally pressing in to receive a word from the Lord. His anointing was in our midst and we all knew it.

Cultural and religious walls came tumbling down as the Spirit of God moved upon His people. In one of our meetings where the ministers and their wives were present, Ginny, lead by the Holy Spirit, exhorted and encouraged every one to dance before the Lord. What happened next was glorious! That was the first time that they had experienced such a thing. Men, women and children alike became freed up in God's presence.

The teaching ministries of Paula Shilling and Ginny Meier brought a much needed physical and emotional healing to a large audience of women. Through their anointed prayers and operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit they were able to infused them with joy and hope by rising up their levels of faith toward God and His Word.

Junior Futi held the youth assembly captive as he shared his personal testimony. His formidable presence, charisma and evident passion for the Lord drew children, teens and young adults all around him.

Because different denominations were attending and congregations from all over India were represented in our meetings, as somebody well said, we were able to minister not just to one church but also to more than a hundred churches. Those ministers returned to their cities, towns and villages full of faith, love and hope, as they were encouraged strengthen, challenged and with a renewed vision they might very well impact he whole nation of India.

It was sad to know that hundreds of ministers wanted to participate and receive the benefits of our conferences. These are very poor people and they depended on us to finance their trip, lodging and meals for three days. We were able to provide only for a hundred and twenty extra showed up and were not turned away. This coming year we would like to bless more ministers. This is a challenging task but then again we serve an awesome God for whom nothing is too difficult.
